Luna & Copper – Registered HighPark Cow/Calf Pair
 
 
This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase a registered HighPark cow and calf pair. Luna is the final HighPark female in our herd as we transition to raising only Scottish Highland cattle. She is an attractive roan-colored cow with an excellent maternal history and a calm disposition.
Luna has been exposed to our AHCA registered silver Scottish Highland bull, Maverick, since shortly after the birth of her calf, Copper, and is expected to calve again in late winter. Pregnancy will be confirmed by our veterinarian soon.
She has already proven herself as an excellent mother, delivering her first calf unassisted. While she enjoys treats and snacks, Luna is generally a quiet cow that prefers to observe rather than seek attention.

Copper
Copper is Luna's registered HighPark bull calf and represents an excellent breeding prospect. He is 75% Scottish Highland and 25% White Park with striking red-tipped coloring and beautiful markings.
He is chondro negative, horned, and appears to be maturing into a moderate-sized bull. At approximately 3½ months of age, he measured 36 inches at the hip and weighed 60 pounds at birth. His sire is our former AHCA registered Scottish Highland bull, Callum.
Copper currently still nurses occasionally.
One horn sustained minor cosmetic damage while sparring with another calf. The outer horn sheath was knocked off, but the horn remained firmly attached with no bleeding or injury. We expect it to grow out and become more even over time. Photos are included.
